Purple Haze

This is a landscape built from Heaven, Earth, and everything that moves between them (Qi). Purple is the color of Alchemy itself, the meeting point where the upper and lower worlds touch, where what is above and what is below stop being separate things and become one continuous field. In this piece, sky and ground are not divided by a hard line, they blur into each other the way they actually do at dawn or dusk, when the boundary between worlds is at its thinnest. Jaye painted that threshold, the haze where Heaven is still settling into Earth and Earth is still reaching up toward Heaven. Neither one has finished arriving. This is the space the Alchemists work in, not above, not below, but exactly in between, where transformation actually happens.

The Contemplation: Sit with the piece and notice the space between what feels grounded in you and what feels expansive. Let yourself rest in that in-between place rather than needing to choose one or the other.
