Acrylic on Canvas, 30″ x 24″
A spiral pulls inward and outward at once, the way a black hole both consumes and reveals, the way the third eye opens not into darkness but into depth. This is Stage Five, the Sage, the Water Element, the stage of deep listening, where everything quiets so something truer can be heard. The Sage doesn’t need to fill silence with speaking. When the Sage does speak, it isn’t effort, it’s closer to channeling. This piece is an invitation into the infinite cosmos, the vastness that exists both far beyond us and quietly within, accessible the moment we stop looking outward for answers and drop into the void of the heart instead. The spiral has no true beginning and no true end, the endless unfolding of consciousness reaching toward consciousness, the Universe studying itself through us. Jaye painted that endlessness, the place where child and Sage, silence and understanding, are not opposites but doorways into each other.
The Contemplation:Â Sit with the piece and let your eyes follow the spiral inward. Notice what becomes audible only once you stop trying to speak.
