So what I see initially in your walks is some Wood (your arms come out a bit from your sides and your energy is leading with your diaphragm). Some Metal (your shoulders are back and your arms are a bit floppy). The other one is either Earth or Fire. I am leaning toward Earth because I think when you’re walking slow, your hips go side to side a little bit. Your Wood score wasn’t that high… so I wonder, do you relate to the Wood Element at all?

Thanks Andreas. If anyone else is trying to view the videos, they only show up if you download them right now (I’m working with tech support). Luckily though, I can see them!

Hi Frazer,
Yes there is. Each Element has a Yin and a Yang type. So for Water, there’s the Yang Bladder type and the Yin Kidney type.
The difference between the yin and yang types is that the yang type tends to process things. The yin type tends to store things. So what does that look like? Well, in a Bladder type, they will be perhaps more active, perhaps a bit faster, more involved in the management or the resources, moving things where they need to go, making sure there’s enough in each location. Whereas the Kidney type, might be a bit slower, a bit more patient, not moving all the time, and storing the Willpower.
As a contrast, the Earth Element is Spleen for yin and Stomach for yang. Spleen holds Ideas – concepts, theories, thoughts. The Stomach processes those thoughts, so is about thinking everything through, analysis.
Does that make sense?
It’s a great question…

Hi Jocelyn,
Thanks so much for reaching out and I apologize for not responding sooner! I somehow missed your post. We are so happy you’re enjoying the podcast!
The different types of Fire are: Heart (rare), Small Intestine (slightly rare), Pericardium (most common) and Triple Heater (also rare). Heart and Small Intestine are paired and Pericardium and Triple Heater are paired.
The only resources that I’ve looked at are Claude Larre and Elizabeth Rochat de la Vallee (though they’re dense reading).
Basically – Pericardiums are how we mostly describe fire – outgoing but can be shy when they don’t feel safe, smiley, a little self-centered, love to share and find common ground, want to be loved, etc. Everything we talk about for Fire.
Small Intestine is similar but a little less shy and also is constantly sorting – deciding what’s right or wrong for them.
Heart is quite rare- life can be quite chaotic, people have strong reactions to them, and they might not have as many friends or be quite so social
Triple Heater is uber social, life of the party, not shy, kind of extreme fire.
Thanks again! And let me know if you have more questions!

So cool Silvia (Jaye thinks it’s a great discussion too). However, while there are sometimes different associations (not always agreement here), the primary associations are:
Liver – Eyes (not ears). So yes, Wood would say “I see it”
Kidneys – Ears, although Earth is listening for sure, but Kidneys are more about the quality of hearing, such as whether or not there is deafness
Earth is Mouth/Taste (probably why they’re such foodies)
Metal is nose (Large Intestine 20 next to the nose is called Welcome Fragrance)
Fire is the Tonuge/Speech, which is why it’s the element of talking all the time (communication)
-
I’m sure it’s confusing. But I don’t believe he’s going to say Liver and Spleen are Wood organs. He is a Chinese Medicine practitioner too. So I’m guessing he’s associating them in some other sense, and there’s just a confusion about how he’s presenting it. He might be talking about “Liver invading Spleen” as a Wood issue, which is a common discussion.
It’s wonderful work!
BTW We’re going to be posing a Qi Gong, Dao Yin video soon in the Alchemy Learning Center as well!

Hi Silvia, We love Mingtong. A lot of clients work with him and have been to his place in NM. He’s great. I think we’re totally in alignment. And yes, he’s totally Fire!
When you go in reverse control cycle, that’s an Alchemical idea for longevity. It is called the insulting cycle, but normally it’s a negative way to look at it, In Healing sounds it’s to heal the “insulting” in your life 🙂
The Earth Element is the same. It’s Stomach and Spleen/Pancreas. In Chinese Medicine, the Spleen and the Pancreas are the same organ. The spleen/pancreas is a yin organ. The stomach is a Yang organ. So he isn’t seeing it different at all. It’s fine to say Pancreas is primary. It’s the same as the Spleen. They are synonymous in Chinese Medicine. The Pancreas meridian is the Spleen meridian. 🙂
I don’t understand the distinction you’re making about the colon and small Intestine. They are digestive organs.

What are your best coping mechanisms?

Hi Diane,
It looks like we have to reply in the forum to have it show up in the forum discussion. If we reply in the Energy Stream, it shows up there. Interesting. But for now… I love this discussion! What do others think?
-
Well, it’s totally possible that you’ve made your walk more Woody than it would be naturally. I lot of people in martial arts, I think, may do this, especially the more yang styles. The more yin style might create more Water type movement. Do you think your walk might be influenced by your lifestyle then? If you’re truly Fire and Wood second, perhaps you rely on your Wood a little too heavily?
-
Ahhh that makes sense – I like that… the purification elements for Liver and Spleen.
And yes, those are the digestive organs… so digestion is primarily Earth with the help of Fire (transformation) and Metal (recycling and elimination).

Great! I’ll see you tonight!

I really think he’s Fire, more than Earth. Now his wife is a big part of it, she might be Earth or Wood. I’ve not seen her. I just know she’s the force behind the way it’s presented.
